SYMPOSIUM LAMARCK-DARWIN 1809-2009
Lamarck-Darwin: 1809-2009. Two hundred years of evolutionism. This Symposium will be the celebration of Darwin's birth in 1809, Lamarck's publication, the same year, of Philosophie zoologique, and the edition, by the former, of The Origin of Species, fifty years later. It will take place in the City of Xalapa, Veracruz, México, September 28 to October 2, 2009 (Organizing Institutions: UAM, CEFPSVLT, UV, INAH, UAEM). The Symposium will invite specialists willing to present synthetically a comprehensive aspect of the subjects. In 1809, Lamarck publishes Philosophie zoologique and Darwin is born. These two independent events will mingle and have a great importance fifty years after, in 1859, with the publication of The Origin of Species.
